TIFFIN, Ohio — First Brands Group, LLC filed Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act extensions Friday at all three of its remaining Ohio facilities, retaining a combined 669 workers through May 31, 2026, as the bankrupt automotive parts company continues to pursue buyers for its plants.

The extensions — filed simultaneously on Friday, April 24 with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services — cover the Toledo Molding & Die facility in Tiffin, the TMD plant in Bowling Green, and First Brands’ Cleveland corporate headquarters. All three letters cite the same reason for the extended retention: to allow the company “to continue to pursue sales of certain of its U.S. facilities.”

At the Tiffin plant, located at 1441 N. Maule Rd., 345 of the facility’s 407 workers have had their WARN notices extended through May 31. In Bowling Green, 263 of 302 workers received the same extension. At the Cleveland corporate office at 127 Public Square, 61 employees will be retained through May 31.

Workers whose notices were not extended at any of the three sites are still scheduled for separation on April 30, 2026, the date specified in First Brands’ original February 27 WARN Act filings. The extension letters do not specify how many workers at each facility fall into that group.

The Seneca Regional Chamber & Development announced Monday on Facebook that a planned Job & Resource Fair for TMD Tiffin workers would not move forward as a result of the extension.

“This decision allows continued focus on those efforts while remaining prepared to support employees if needed,” the Chamber wrote. “This remains a fluid situation, and we will continue to share updates as more information becomes available.”

The Chamber added that it appreciated “the flexibility and support of our employer partners and the community” as the situation develops.

First Brands Group, a Cleveland-based automotive parts conglomerate, has been operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection since September 2025. The company filed the original WARN notices for all three Ohio facilities on February 27, 2026, projecting a combined total of more than 800 jobs lost across Tiffin, Bowling Green, and Cleveland. The Tiffin closure was one of three same-day notices that TiffinOhio.net previously reported would eliminate more than 1,000 Ohio jobs in total when combined with a simultaneous closure at the FRAM filtration plant in Greenville.

It is not yet known whether First Brands filed similar extensions at its facilities outside Ohio. TiffinOhio.net is continuing to monitor the situation.
