TIFFIN, Ohio — A downtown Tiffin bookstore is entering a new chapter.
Pan Yan Bookstore, located at 144 S. Washington Street, has announced a change in ownership from founder Judy Dezse to Penelope Logsdon, a Heidelberg University graduate and native of Medina County.
Dezse, who opened the store in September 2022, called Pan Yan “one of the greatest joys” of her life and thanked the community for its support.
The independent bookstore offers a wide selection of new and used books, as well as gifts and knick-knacks. It currently hosts monthly book clubs, Write Night, and a Fiber Club, along with author visits and other literary events throughout the year.
Logsdon, who has served as store manager since 2023, said she plans to build on that foundation with new community-focused programming — including monthly craft workshops and book-themed events to connect readers. She also announced plans for a mobile bookstore stocked with rotating genres that will visit nearby towns.
Tiffin Mayor Lee Wilkinson praised the transition, saying small businesses like Pan Yan are vital to downtown’s continued success.
