TIFFIN, Ohio — A woman was flown to a Toledo hospital Thursday afternoon following a serious two-vehicle crash in Seneca County.

Emergency crews were dispatched shortly before 1 p.m. to the intersection of West U.S. 224 and South County Road 7 for a two-vehicle crash with initially unknown injuries, according to Seneca County dispatch records.

Responders arriving at the scene reported finding a woman in a field with a large laceration to her leg and immediately requested that Life Flight availability be checked. The roadway was closed while emergency crews worked at the scene.

Multiple fire and EMS agencies responded, including Bascom Joint Fire & EMS and New Riegel Fire & EMS. The Ohio State Highway Patrol also responded to the scene, and the Ohio Department of Transportation was contacted to assist with the road closure.

MetroHealth Life Flight landed at the crash scene at approximately 1:34 p.m. and departed about 17 minutes later for ProMedica Toledo, according to the dispatch log.

Both vehicles involved in the crash were ordered towed from the scene. The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office completed an Ohio crash report.

The identities of the injured parties and additional information about their conditions were not immediately available from the dispatch summary.
