Tiffin police have identified five men they say forced their way into a Market Street Flats apartment early Saturday and assaulted three residents, the department said Monday. Two of the men are jailed on first-degree felony aggravated burglary charges, and three remain at large under arrest warrants.
Officers responded at approximately 2:57 a.m. Saturday, June 13, to a reported burglary in progress at the complex at 1730 W. Market Street and found men with facial injuries consistent with an assault, according to the department.
2 men jailed, 3 sought
Chandler Norville, 19, of New Riegel, and Will Kurtz, 20, of Tiffin, were taken into custody shortly after the incident and charged with aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, police said. Both remain held at the Seneca County Jail.
As of Monday, investigators had identified the three remaining suspects as Robert L. Norville Jr., 50, of Spencerville; Travis D. Norville, 25, of Ashland; and Jacob Parrott, 29, of Tiffin. The Seneca County Common Pleas Court issued arrest warrants for all three, and investigators believe they have fled the area, the department said.
Police asked anyone with information on the whereabouts of the three to contact Detective Eric England of the Tiffin Police Department Criminal Division at 419-447-2323, ext. 1122.
3 residents injured; 1 taken to Columbus-area hospital
Five men forced their way into the apartment and assaulted three of the occupants, police said. The three injured men were taken to Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital with facial injuries. Two have since been released, according to the department. The third was taken to a Columbus-area hospital, where police said he is being treated for substantial facial injuries and is expected to undergo surgery.
The department said it is withholding the victims’ names for safety reasons.
Police revise earlier account: no theft occurred
In its initial release Saturday, the department reported that the incident stemmed from a theft and that a hat and chain necklace had been stolen and later recovered. Police said Monday that no theft occurred. While an assault did take place in the parking lot of the former Big Lots location on W. Market Street, the items recovered inside the apartment belonged to the suspects who forced their way in and were unrelated to that earlier altercation, the department said.
The department said in its initial release that additional charges were anticipated pending consultation with the Seneca County Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation remains active.
The apartment complex, at 1730 W. Market Street, was formerly known as Tiffin West Apartments. It was renamed Market Street Flats after new owners purchased the property in early 2026.
