TIFFIN, Ohio — A 41-year-old man was arrested Saturday night after a Tiffin resident reported that an unknown, apparently intoxicated man walked into his home and fell asleep in a chair.

Tiffin police were called to a residence on Douglas Street shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday after the homeowner reported that a man he did not know had entered the house and fallen asleep inside, according to a police media summary.

The man had moved outside by the time officers responded. Police identified him as Andrew Lovas, 41, of Tiffin, and requested emergency medical personnel to evaluate him.

Officers recorded a preliminary breath-test reading of .230, according to the police log. Lovas was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Seneca County Jail.

Seneca County jail records show Lovas was booked at 8:33 p.m. Saturday on a charge of disorderly conduct under Ohio Revised Code 2917.11(B)(1), which applies to certain disorderly behavior while voluntarily intoxicated.

The jail record describes the charge as disorderly conduct involving intoxication that causes annoyance or alarm. No bail amount was listed in the booking record.
