TIFFIN, Ohio — A 19-year-old wanted man who ran from Tiffin police Friday evening was captured after a nearly hour-long search through the downtown area and booked on charges including obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
Police spotted Ryan Aiden Hatcher around 6:46 p.m. as he was walking into the Laird Arcade on South Washington Street, according to police dispatch records. The log says Hatcher matched the description officers were looking for and then “took off running” near Madison and South Monroe streets.
Officers began searching the surrounding area, checking several downtown blocks and alleys. Dispatch records show police received information that Hatcher had been seen running behind the Clover Club and later searched near the 300 block of South Washington Street.
The search continued for nearly an hour. At 7:42 p.m., an officer radioed, “We got him over here.” Police reported Hatcher in custody one minute later.
Seneca County Jail records list three charges associated with Hatcher’s booking: obstructing official business, resisting arrest, and a parole/probation violation.
Jail records list $5,000 cash bail on the obstructing official business charge, $5,000 cash bail on the resisting arrest charge and $10,000 cash bail on the parole/probation violation, for a combined listed bail amount of $20,000.
Police dispatch records said officers had been looking for Hatcher on a statewide pickup warrant stemming from a criminal-trespassing case. That warrant was listed in the police log with a $10,000 cash-or-surety bond and no 10% option.
The jail record does not yet list case numbers or court dates for the new charges.
