TIFFIN, Ohio – The Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership (TSEP) announced Thursday the acquisition of the former Cinemark Theater by Seneca Cinema & Event Center, a local investment group.

The group, consisting of eight prominent Seneca County business leaders from fields such as construction, education, and media, aims to revitalize the theater and rename it Seneca Starvue.

The Seneca Starvue will continue to feature first-run movies on its eight screens, which have a combined capacity of 1,300 seats. Theater rooms will accommodate between 71 and 252 guests, providing a comfortable viewing experience. The theater will also host special themed movie nights showcasing classic films.

Dale Depew, Tiffin Mall Manager, expressed his enthusiasm about the project, saying, “The commitment of local investors to enhance this space demonstrates our belief in the future of Tiffin and Seneca County.”

Plans include significant upgrades to improve the movie-going experience. The group is also considering purchasing nearby outbuildings, with preliminary talks underway for a second regional restaurant.

Dennis Armstrong, a local businessman and investor, said, “Our goal is for Seneca Starvue to become a destination for families, businesses, and those seeking a unique entertainment experience. We aim to create something truly special here.”

In addition to movies, the Seneca Starvue will serve as an event center, available for private rentals, including parties, concerts, and comedy shows. Local talent and contractors will prepare the theater for its grand reopening at 4:00 PM on September 25th.

Tiffin Mayor Lee Wilkinson praised the project, stating, “This acquisition by local investors is a testament to the strong community spirit in Tiffin and Seneca County. The Seneca Starvue will not only continue to be a place for entertainment but will also contribute to the economic vitality of our region.”

The community can look forward to a premier entertainment venue that emphasizes local ownership and pride.
