UPDATED INFORMATION: Police say husband killed 2 children, another man before taking his own life in Tiffin shooting
TIFFIN, Ohio — Four people, including two young boys, were killed Wednesday evening in what police are investigating as a murder-suicide on Huss Street, according to the Tiffin Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Huss Street at approximately 6:24 p.m. after a report of gunshots and screaming. Inside the residence, officers found an adult male and two male children with gunshot wounds. The adult male and one of the children were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers immediately began lifesaving measures on the second child. Tiffin Fire & Rescue transported both the child and an adult female from the home to Mercy Hospital. Police said the woman was physically uninjured but in significant distress. The child later died from his injuries.
Outside the residence, officers found an additional adult male deceased from what police said appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Based on evidence collected so far, investigators are treating the case as a murder-suicide. Police have not released the identities of any of the victims.
The scene was secured by responding officers and detectives, and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was requested to process the residence. Detectives and BCI agents remained at the scene Wednesday night collecting evidence and conducting interviews. The investigation is ongoing.
Police said no further information will be released until next of kin notifications are completed.
