TIFFIN, Ohio — Tiffin City Schools Superintendent Jerry Nadeau has announced he will step down from his position effective December 8, 2025, citing a need to focus on his family’s health and time together.
In a message to the Tiffin City Schools community on Tuesday, Nadeau said the decision followed “much thought and reflection,” and emphasized his desire to be fully present for his loved ones.
“Life often reminds us that there are moments we can’t get back, and I need to be fully present for my loved ones during this time,” Nadeau wrote. “Serving the students, staff, and families of Tiffin City Schools has been one of the greatest honors of my career. I am incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made together; strengthening our programs, supporting our teachers, and building a culture centered on student success and community pride.”
Nadeau, who has led the district through a period of growth and collaboration, expressed confidence in the district’s future. “I hope I have helped leave this district stronger than when I arrived and positioned it for continued success,” he said. “What makes Tiffin City Schools truly exceptional is not any one person. It’s the people.”
Tiffin City Board of Education President Larry Kisabeth confirmed Nadeau’s resignation in a press release Tuesday, highlighting his leadership and contributions to the district.
“Mr. Nadeau has made significant contributions to our district, consistently working with all staff members to encourage excellence across every department and foster a positive, collaborative environment for student success,” Kisabeth said.
Kisabeth noted that Nadeau worked closely with the district’s levy committee to help pass a new operating levy just last week — the first in 13 years — providing critical funding for the district’s operations.
“Under Mr. Nadeau’s leadership, the district has renewed positive energy in doing what is best for kids,” Kisabeth added. “We wish him well in dealing with family issues and as he seeks new paths in his professional career.”
The Tiffin Board of Education will now begin developing a transition plan for district leadership.
Nadeau has served as superintendent of Tiffin City Schools since 2022. During his tenure, he prioritized academic improvement, community partnerships, and financial stability. His resignation will become official pending approval from the Board of Education.
