VoteVets, a national organization that advocates for veterans and military families in public life, has endorsed Aaron Jones in his campaign for the Ohio House of Representatives in the 88th District.

Jones is a U.S. Army veteran who served as an Airborne Infantryman with the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment — the Old Guard, the Army’s official ceremonial unit based in Washington, D.C.

“VoteVets is proud to support veterans like Aaron who are stepping forward to continue their service beyond the uniform,” the organization said in a statement. “At a time when our communities and our democracy face real challenges, veterans bring proven leadership, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the Constitution and the country.”

Jones said his military background informs his approach to public service.

“Serving in the Army taught me that leadership means responsibility, discipline, and showing up for the people who depend on you,” Jones said. “Those are the same values I’ll bring to Columbus as I work to represent the people of Seneca and Sandusky counties.”

Jones, a factory supervisor and first-term Tiffin City Councilman, is running unopposed in the Democratic primary in the 88th District, which covers Seneca and Sandusky counties. The seat is currently held by Rep. Gary Click (R-Vickery), who is facing insurgent challenger Eric Watson (R-Tiffin) in the May 5, 2026 GOP primary.

“Service doesn’t end when you take off the uniform,” Jones said. “I’m running to continue serving my community and to make sure the people of this district have a strong voice in Columbus.”
