TIFFIN, Ohio — Over 200 people gathered in downtown Tiffin on Saturday afternoon for the city’s No Kings rally — one of thousands of peaceful demonstrations across the country pushing back against what participants called the Trump administration’s growing authoritarianism and corruption.

The event drew people from across Seneca County and beyond, with residents, students, families, and community leaders filling Courthouse Square with handmade signs, chants, and calls for accountability. The rally was part of a national day of action that saw millions of Americans take to the streets to declare that “America has no kings.”

Organizers described No Kings as a peaceful, nonpartisan movement standing against abuses of power — including attacks on immigrant families, voter rights, healthcare, education, and the environment — and efforts to undermine democracy itself.

“Today, millions of people showed that we, the people, will not be silenced,” said Deirdre Schifeling, chief political and advocacy officer for the American Civil Liberties Union.

The No Kings mobilizations were coordinated by more than 100 partner organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union, League of Women Voters, Physicians for Social Responsibility, Common Cause, and Indivisible.
