TIFFIN, Ohio — Kyle Daugherty was chosen to fill an open at-large council seat during a special Tiffin City Council meeting Monday and was sworn in by Law Director Zach Fowler.
Daugherty will serve for the remainder of the term, which expires Dec. 31, 2025.
Daugherty emerged as the preferred choice among four self-nominated candidates vying for the vacancy, following a series of interviews held earlier this week in Council Chambers at Tiffin City Hall. His appointment follows the departure of former at-large Councilmember John Kahler.
The meeting, which was open to the public and streamed on social media, featured a review of candidate submissions and a vote by council members. Law Director Fowler administered the oath of office, officially inducting Daugherty into his new role.
Daugherty’s term will last until the end of 2025, at which point a new election will be held to determine the city’s at-large representation.
