TIFFIN – Four candidates have submitted self-nominations to fill the remainder of at-large Councilmember John Kahler’s term, which expires Dec. 31, 2025.
Kyle Daugherty, Ashlee Decker, Dan Perry and Evan Schleter turned in their resumes and cover letters before Wednesday’s deadline, prompting a special council meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 in the council chambers at Tiffin City Hall.
During the meeting, council members will review the submissions, conduct candidate interviews and vote on the nominees.
By established rules, if a majority candidate is not selected within five voting rounds, the process will resume at the regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 18.
The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed live on social media.
Kahler stepped down from his seat on council at the end of January, citing potential conflicts of interest with his private law practice as the reason for his resignation.
