As Election Day approaches, several prominent Ohio Republicans have announced their support for U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown’s reelection campaign. Endorsements came from Clark County Sheriff Deborah Burchett, Evendale Mayor Richard Finan, and former Fox News host Geraldo Rivera, following a similar announcement from former Republican Governor Bob Taft.
Sheriff Burchett emphasized Brown’s commitment to public safety, stating, “While Sherrod and I may not agree on every issue, he’s always shown himself to be a leader who puts Ohio first, especially when it comes to keeping Ohioans safe. From his work on rail safety to leading efforts to keep fentanyl out of Ohio, Sherrod is the best choice for Senate this year, and I’m proud to be voting for him this November.”
Mayor Finan also expressed his support, acknowledging their past collaboration. “Sherrod Brown and I don’t agree on every issue, but this November, I’m supporting Sherrod for reelection to the U.S. Senate. I’ve known Sherrod since our time together in the legislature, and we’ve worked together on key initiatives that will make our community safer. Sherrod is a fair and effective legislator who has shown he will work with people of both parties when it works for Ohio. That’s why he has my support this November,” he said.
Geraldo Rivera praised Brown’s service, declaring, “Today I’m honored to announce my support for the reelection of Sherrod Brown to the United States Senate. Senator Brown has an extraordinary record of service to all the people of the Buckeye State.”
These endorsements come on the heels of a letter from Taft, who described Brown as a “highly effective, experienced advocate.” Taft highlighted Brown’s focus on Ohio and national needs, noting his collaboration with Republican Congressman Mike Turner to support the personnel at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
Earlier this month, Brown’s campaign launched “Republicans and Independents for Sherrod,” a coalition that includes over 200 Independent and Republican voters backing his reelection.
