TIFFIN, Ohio — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown energized local voters during his Wednesday visit to the Seneca County Democratic Party headquarters, encouraging Ohioans to cast their votes early in the final stretch of his re-election campaign.

Gathered at 156 Jefferson St., Seneca County residents met Brown at an afternoon event where the longtime Democrat emphasized his commitment to the working class, drawing connections between Ohio values and his policy goals. Brown, who is running for a fourth term, touched on pressing issues for Ohioans, including healthcare, labor rights, and economic fairness.

“This fight – the fight for Ohio and for workers and to make sure everyone has a path to the middle class – is personal to me,” Brown said to attendees. “When you love this country, you fight for the people who make it work – that’s why I’m running for re-election and why I encourage all Ohioans to vote on or before November 5th.”

Brown contrasted his record with that of his opponent, businessman Bernie Moreno, who has faced scrutiny for alleged mistreatment of his employees. Moreno has been criticized for withholding overtime pay from workers and for allegedly destroying documents he was ordered by a judge to keep. His sale of the Chinese-made Buick Envision has also drawn criticism, as the move sent Ohio jobs overseas.

As a voice for working families, Brown is known for his ability to cross party lines on certain issues, a trait his supporters say could be crucial in a closely divided Senate. In a previous statement, Seneca County Democratic Party Chair Gina Grandillo praised Brown’s track record, describing him as “a bridge between party lines” who advocates for policies that resonate across Ohio’s political spectrum.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Senator Brown back to Seneca County,” Grandillo said. “This is a fantastic chance for our community to hear directly from him about his vision for Ohio and the future of our nation.”

With the Ohio Senate seat a key focus in the upcoming election, Brown’s message in Tiffin underscored the urgency of early voting, which Ohioans can do in person or by mail. His visit comes as campaigns across the state intensify in a high-stakes race that could shape the balance of power in the Senate.

As he wrapped up the meet-and-greet, Brown once more emphasized the importance of voter turnout, particularly among those who share his vision of expanding economic opportunities and securing the future for all Ohioans.
